Our Story

HotShift started with a problem every blue-collar worker knows: lunch sounds great at 7 AM, then noon hits and you’re staring at another cold meal in the truck.

We’re run by a working tradesman in Florida. Most days are spent bouncing between job sites, climbing ladders, working outside in the heat, hauling equipment, and eating wherever there happens to be five minutes of shade.

There’s no employee break room out there. No microwave sitting ten feet away. And nobody wants to burn half their lunch break driving somewhere just to spend $15 on food they didn’t even really want.

For a long time, lunch was whatever was easiest: a cold sandwich smashed in a cooler, leftovers eaten cold, gas-station food, or a drive-thru between jobs.

And after enough days like that, we started asking a pretty simple question:

Why should having a hot lunch depend on whether your job site has a microwave?

We tried the usual alternatives. Thermoses were hit or miss by lunchtime. Plug-in cookers tied you to the truck. Fast food meant leaving the site, waiting in line, spending more money, and getting back late.

None of it really fit the way tradesmen actually work.

That’s what led us to the cordless heated lunch box.

Pack last night’s dinner. Throw it in the truck in the morning. Set the timer. Keep working.

Then when lunch finally comes around, you open it up to an actual hot meal.

No microwave. No outlet. No drive-thru. No cold lunch.

HotShift exists for the people eating lunch on tailgates, in work trucks, on job sites, in parking lots, on roofs, and everywhere else the break room doesn’t exist.

Because after working all morning, you should at least get to eat like a normal person.
